November 2015 Writing Update

I made series pages and a coming soon page -- so I thought these updates wouldn't be needed anymore.  But I received a couple of messages when there wasn't any for September or October, so here's November before I get beaten with a wet noodle.

You know who you are.

Bronc Buster, the final story in the Tales of Triple M Ranch series, just released.  I'm kind of sad the series is ending, but it feels right to not drag it out any more than where it naturally should end.  Mack's story will hopefully tie everything up nicely.

Mid-month, the 5th installment of the Bear Mountain series will be released, A Second Chance with Two Bears.  This is Ben's story.  And I'm not giving away ANY spoilers besides that little morsel.  I WILL share that the series has grown to at least seven books at this point.  If it makes sense to continue... if it feels right... there *MIGHT* be more than seven.  I really enjoy writing about these bears and their community, so as long as we're all happy, let the good times roll.

At the end of the month, we'll finally see GRAIG -- I know I messed up big time by not releasing it on time.  But it was either give you guys a less than superior story on time or pull release and make it right.  I opted for make it right, especially since I had another release within days of this one.  Why did I pull?  A final line editor found a plot hole.  The more I tried to fix it, the more that became unraveled.  I had to do some major rewrites to fix and it wasn't done in time.

What am I working on now?  I've still got the final JLC book to come.  I think Jax's twin, Jason, deserves a happy ending.  I've also got more in the Dead Ones stories to come.  More bears, of course.  There WILL be another BOUND book, sometime in the semi-near future.

And there is a new series I've got in development.  More badass shifters and I'm excited!

NEW RELEASE -- Bronc Buster - Tales from Triple M Ranch #5

The final story is here!  Mack Maitland gets his HEA.

Shot in the chest, Mack Maitland is left for dead on his ranch, the Triple M. When his hands finally find him, he’s nearly knocking on the Pearly Gates. Luckily for him, Dr. Timothy McArthur has a selfish need to see Mack survive.

Tim has always felt a rush of desire every time he laid eyes on the handsome widower. Mack is straight as an arrow, and Tim had always thought himself the same, so the doctor pushes the need he feels down deep. Being one of only five doctors in a small ranching community keeps him too busy to think about having a love life.

When Mack mutters something in his post-op drugged state, it floors Tim. And makes him realize that maybe there’s a chance.

A chance that scares the hell out of him.

The nurse walked closer and placed a hand on Tim’s shoulder.  “He’s healing more and more each day.  I have a strong feeling your friend is going to come back to you as strong as ever.  You’ll get the chance to tell him how you feel soon enough.”
Tim turned to her, stunned.  “How I feel?  I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Her stare softened.  “When a person is close to death, the truth often comes out.  Whether it’s in words or in body language.  It doesn’t take a mind reader to see how you feel written all over your face.”
Tim was stunned into silence.
“Maybe telling him how you feel might be healing for you both,” she said, her voice low.  “Hearing how much you want him to improve might give him the will to wake up.”
Tim looked to the bed, knowing he couldn’t voice the words out loud.  Mack wouldn’t want him. Yet the chance to say what was in his heart to a man who couldn’t hear him was tempting.
Mack’s nurse headed out, leaving him alone with his thoughts.  After standing there, trying to decide if he should do it or not, he pulled a chair close to the bed and sat down.  Gripping Mack’s large hand in his, he went for it.
Perhaps saying the words aloud and getting them off his chest would make it easier to let those feelings go.
“Mack… I know you likely don’t want to hear this from me, but I’m going to tell you anyway.  I’ve always liked women, always known I was straight… until meeting you two years ago confused the hell out of me.  When you walked into the clinic, I began getting excited you were there.  My heart would speed up at the sight of you walking down the halls.”
Mack’s hand tightened on his, giving him the strength to continue.
“And the thought of you holding me… it comes to me at night… me in your arms… it makes me think of nothing else.”
“Come’ere,” Mack warbled, his eyes still closed.
Tim froze, wondering if Mack had just asked him to come closer.  It couldn’t be, yet the opportunity for a stolen moment made him shake with need.  He released Mack’s hand and rose to his feet.  Careful of all the wires and leads, Tim crawled into the side of the bed and wrapped his arms around the large, muscled man.
Mack’s hand lifted and gripped Tim’s arm, holding him tightly.
“I… love you, too,” Mack said softly, his usually deep voice barely a whisper.

Guest Author - April Andrews Brings Us The Omega Auctions, Book Two

Welcome returning guest, April Andrews, as she shares a bit of her story -- The Omega Auctions, Book Two

If you’re born an omega, you don’t get to stay with your pack. Instead, you’re sent to the Omega Auctions, a place where wolves are traded between packs...and those trades aren’t always what the omegas want them to be...

As an omega, Robbie Huxley was auctioned for the first time at just nine years old. The second time he was fifteen, and the third time he was eighteen. For Robbie, each auction has meant a crueler, meaner master, and a life that he loathes with every fiber of his being.

The week before he is due to be auctioned for the fourth time, Robbie decides that the only option left to him is to try to run. He knows that it will be difficult, because omegas are strictly forbidden to leave their pack, but Robbie doesn’t see any other option. If he is ever going to have a chance at a life with even a tiny bit of happiness he has to strike out on his own.

But Robbie doesn’t know there is a wolf whose job it is to hunt down, and bring back, escaping omegas. And that wolf is coming after him with a very specific purpose in mind...

Before long they were naked and Chase carried Robbie through to the living room. It looked out onto the ocean and the waves beat in the distance. Chase had always thought that view to be indescribably beautiful but Robbie beat even that. He stood before Chase, naked and proud, his cock jutting out. The length was thick and hard, the head reddened and wet.

“Love your cock,” Chase whispered.

“It loves you,” Robbie replied and Chase laughed.

“Later I’ll suckle it,” he said. “Suckle it into you come down my throat.”

“I want to suckle yours,” Robbie said.

Chase shuddered. He wanted Robbie’s lips wrapped around his cock. He wanted to see Robbie looking up at him as he suckled the whole length down. He wanted it bad. But for now only one thing would ease the ache that was clawing away at him.

“We’ll do that later too,” he said. “But for now...” He gestured to the couch. “I want you to bend over that for me.”

Robbie complied immediately. He moved into the exact right position, his ass high in the air, his legs spread. His cock was wedged nicely against the arm of the couch and Chase knew it would rock against that arm as they fucked, meaning Robbie would come simply from a good ass fucking.

How perfect was that?

How beautiful did he look?

“Want to taste you,” Chase whispered, and then he fell to his knees and he spread Robbie’s ass cheeks.

Once the other man was open to him, Chase licked all the way from Robbie’s pucker to his balls. Over and over he did that until Robbie was panting beneath him. Once Chase was sure that Robbie was nice and wet he straightened up. Robbie was completely bent over the couch now, moaning with desire. Seeing the other male in such an erotic position only heightened Chase’s desire.

Unable to wait any longer, he took his cock in hand and steered it to Robbie’s reddened pucker.

“Yes,” Robbie panted as he felt Chase’s cock head nudge against his folds.

“You want this?” Chase asked. “Want it to fill you?”

“I’ve wanted it from the very first moment,” Robbie moaned. “I want it now.”

Guest Author - Adam Charles & Raven

Welcome Adam Charles back - he's sharing a bit from his recent release, Raven.

When Ben stops by Edgar Allan Poe's old dormitory, he gets more than he bargained for when he meets a mysterious man named Raven.

Ben tugged at his costume, not sure he was happy with it. Mark grinned from behind him, but that didn’t exactly help.

“You look great.” Mark handed him his black mask. “The perfect highwayman.”

Looking back to the mirror after donning the mask, Ben reassessed the billowing white shirt and tight leather pants. He put on the military jacket, which was navy blue with ornate bronze buttons on it. “I don’t know.” It didn’t look like a rented costume exactly, but it barely passed for eighteenth century. Mark had laughed at him in the rental store as he quietly criticized the authenticity of some of the costumes.

Mark turned him halfway around. “I do. Your ass looks great. I expect to be coming home alone tonight.”

Ben wiggled away. He and Mark had only ever been friends, so it was a bit weird having Mark assess his butt. “We only met two days ago. Nothing’s going to happen.”

Mark shrugged but said nothing. He put on a black cape with a bright purple lining over a tuxedo that seemed to have seen better days. He added a white mask that covered half his face. He spun in a circle and made the cape billow around him. “Not bad. Maybe I’ll be the one to get lucky.”

Ben tugged on his jacket again. He and Raven had been texting since the morning of the day before, and they’d even talked on the phone last night. Ben really liked him, and he wanted something to spark between them tonight, but no way was he going to tell Mark that.

“Maybe I should be the Phantom. At least I can sing,” Ben said. He shrugged his shoulders again, and the jacket finally sat a little better on his frame.

“This guy doesn’t care about your costume. He invited us so he could see you without seeming like a dick for taking you away from me.” He tugged on Ben’s arm. “Come on. Let’s go.”

Ben thought about that as they drove to the library. As they walked across the lawn, Ben scanned around for Raven.

“There he is,” Mark whispered.

Ben looked where Mark had nodded, and he saw Raven moving toward them. He wore all black and had a hooded cape draped over his shoulders. He donned a black mask as he approached.

“Glad you could make it,” Raven said as he adjusted the mask.

“Wouldn’t miss it for anything,” Mark said, moving to the side. “You two have fun.” He dashed off, despite the look Ben tried to give him.

Raven laughed. “I like him. He’s quite keen on us hooking up.”

Ben didn’t know if he was blushing, but he was suddenly very glad to be wearing a mask. “Yes, he certainly is.”

“You look very dashing.” Raven moved closer and tipped Ben’s chin up. “I think we shouldn’t disappoint your friend.” He paused, but then he brought their lips together.

“He is one of my dearest friends,” Ben said softly after the brief kiss.

“Come on. I’ll show you another supposedly haunted location.”

Ben let himself be led away from the library. His leather pants had gotten even tighter after Raven’s kiss, which made walking a bit awkward. Raven reached out for his hand, and the contact felt good.

“I’m not just looking for a fling here,” Raven said as he drew Ben toward a wooded area. “You only live a few hours away, and I’ll be done with my degree before long.”

“So you have plans beyond getting in my pants?” Ben asked as Raven brought them to a clearing and pulled him close.

“Yeah, but right now, that is the priority.” Raven kissed him again and cupped his ass. Nibbling on his ear, he said, “And we don’t have to fuck, but I want to make you come.”

“You’re clean?” Ben asked.

“Yeah. Been single for a while. But I brought condoms anyway.”

“Condoms plural?” Ben teased. “You’re optimistic.”

“We talked for two hours last night. Of course I am,” Raven said with a smile. The moon illuminated his handsome face perfectly.

“So what’s special about this place?” Ben asked, looking around.

Raven spread his cape over the ground and sat, pulling Ben down to sit beside him. “A couple with very rich parents who hated each other used to meet here to have sex. The girl became pregnant, but she died in childbirth. The guy used to come here to remember her, and he claimed that, if he touched himself, he could hear her moaning.”

Ben’s eyebrows shot up. “I’m guessing that one’s not anywhere on the UVA website.”

Raven laughed. “No, it’s not.” He caressed Ben’s cheek. “You want to go back to the party, or stay here?”

“I’d have to call you a tease if we went back to the party.” He licked his lips. “Though I do want you to keep that mask on.”

Raven chuckled. “Do you?”

“Oh yeah. Very sexy with your dark hair.”

“Funny. I want you out of those leather pants as soon as possible, even though I love how you look in them.” He slid his hand over Ben’s leg and cupped him. “You top or bottom, baby?”

“Both.” Ben shrugged out of his jacket and began working to get his shirt off. “But tonight, I think I’d like to be fucked.”

Raven moved back and simply watched him undressing. Ben couldn’t help shaking a little under that intense gaze. He reclined on his elbows once he was naked. Raven pushed his own hair behind his ears and bent to kiss Ben, his fingers stroking Ben’s chest lazily. He tweaked Ben’s nipple and made Ben gasp, and he laughed and deepened the kiss while his fingers kept working the bud. Ben had to muffle a cry when Raven moved to replace his fingers with his mouth and torment the already sensitive peak. Ben stroked himself, his balls aching with seed.

Raven stripped very quickly and got on his knees. “Come over here and suck me. I’ve been thinking about your mouth since we met.”

Ben inched down and rolled to his side. He lapped at Raven’s cock head and tasted fluid on the tip. He moaned as he took more, his hand on Raven’s thigh. He watched as Raven thrust forward. Though tall and lean, Raven had a lot of muscle to him, and Ben couldn’t help admiring it. He took Raven’s cock deeper and let it pass into his throat.

“God, that’s so good.” Raven yanked on his hair and pulled him back.

Ben didn’t know what he intended at first, but then he was pushed to his back on the ground. Raven pumped his cock a moment before bending over and kissing along Ben’s stomach.

“Your skin’s so soft,” Raven said. His mouth inched lower and lower. “Can I rim you?”

“Sure. I showered before getting ready.”

Raven laughed and came up to kiss him. “That wasn’t why I was asking. Some guys think it’s gross no matter what.”

Ben held him close for another kiss. “You don’t need permission to do anything with that mouth.”

“Then get on your hands and knees.”

Ben did so right away. Raven got behind him and made him spread his legs wider. He cupped Ben’s ass cheeks and squeezed them before lowering his mouth to kiss and bite them. Ben pushed back to encourage him. No one had ever bitten him before, and he liked the little bite of pain. He gasped at what came next. Raven actually spread his hole and slid his tongue right in. He worked his tongue in slow circles to prepare Ben. It made his entrance supersensitive, and he clenched a little. Despite the chill that had crept into the air after the sun set, Ben’s skin was on fire. Raven moaned against his flesh and rolled his tongue, giving him a taste of the real fucking to come. A couple of guys had licked him, but he’d never been eaten out this thoroughly before. Raven lapped at him with abandon, moving down every now and then to lick and suck his balls.

Then Raven drew back and slapped him on both ass cheeks. Ben’s mouth fell open, and he looked back at Raven.

“That okay?” Raven asked, his hands now massaging Ben’s ass.

“Yes.” Ben lowered his head as Raven’s fingers teased his hole. “And I was only hoping for a little making out before the end of the night.”

Raven pushed two fingers into him. “We’ll do that, too. I like to cuddle afterwards.”

Those fingers made it hard to concentrate, let alone talk.

To My Readers

I'm about to do something I should've done much sooner.

When An Omega for Two Bears came out, I was torn.  I knew that my very private and personal story at the end could bring me back to a very dark place and I was completely sure I wanted to add it at all.

I've never spoken much about my rape during my lifetime.  I internalized a lot of the emotions I felt after the fact.  I think a lot of rape survivors can relate to hiding how we feel.  So for me to be open and honest about it to a world full of readers, well, it was scary as hell.

I received so much more than I could've ever hoped for.  All of the messages, emails, and comments in reviews for the book were so positive, many thanking me for including my story and that it helped them just a little bit, as well.

A few made me cry.  Others made me smile.  And all of them made me realize how wonderful my readers really are.

The last month has proven how lucky I am to have you reading my books.

While I typically don't tackle issues like this in my books -- let's be honest, my raunchy little books are written to be light and entertaining -- I'm so very glad I went there in the last bear's book.

The rest of the books in this series will have big shoes to fill from the sounds of it.  Hopefully I can make them pass muster.

RODE HARD is only 99 cents -- FOR A LIMITED TIME

If you haven't had a chance to read the Tales from Triple M Ranch series -- then now's the time.  For a limited time, Rode Hard will be available for only 99 cents on Amazon.

Have a peek:

When he’s caught screwing the ranch’s owner, Austin Hemming gets kicked off the property by the owner’s missus. He’s got a long habit of thinking with the wrong head, as his desire for a spot of fun is all he really cares about. Luckily, he’s a hard worker, too, and lands a job at the Triple M ranch in the next county alongside three of the toughest ranch hands around.

Jensen James has been in a three-way with ranch hands Owen and Davis for years. They’d worked well together and loved hard all night, but Jensen couldn’t stop feeling like the odd man out. When ranch owner, Mack Maitland, announces he’s bought the ranch next door and wants to increase his herd—and bring in new hands—Owen and Davis see it as the end to their fun. Jensen sees it as an opportunity, especially after he meets hot-bodied new hand Austin.

The two of them combust when they’re around one another, but soon learn they just might not suit. Jensen refuses to give up, though, and quickly wears Austin down.

Bear lays with human, not bear.

Or so the old bear law has always said. It was beaten into Declan and his brother bear, Ryder’s heads since they were small, just like every other cub in school. Yet when they find their mate, an omega, sneaking a dip in the mountain’s spring, Declan can’t ignore the need he feels, bear or not.

Ryder feels the same lusts, but he’s much more concerned about an omega being their mate. He knows claiming another bear could get them exiled. He stops Declan before things go too far, but even that isn’t enough to stop them from being sent off bear lands.

Gage knows his mates when he sees them, but also knows they can never be together. As an omega, he’s the lowest chaste in the bear world, an invisible slave to those above him. The fantasy is too scary to imagine, no matter how much his body yearns to be claimed by the two handsome males.

It’ll take the bear world to be flipped upside down for the three of them to find a way to be together.

“What’s your name?” Declan asked.

“Gage,” the omega answered, staying as far from Declan and Ryder as he likely possibly could.

“My name’s Declan.” He turned and pointed to Ryder. “And this is Ryder, my brother bear.”

Gage looked warily between them. When Declan stepped into the pool, Gage was quick to scatter out of it. Ryder remained on the outskirts, watching everything unfold.

“Where are you going?” Declan asked, only one foot in the water.

“I’ll leave you to enjoy the pool,” Gage said, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Don’t go.” Declan stepped deeper into the pool, the water swallowing him. “I want you to stay.”

Gage hung half in, half out of the pool, watching them. Ryder worried it was all too much for the omega and that they were scaring him—but then he saw the shining head of Gage’s hard cock popping up from under the water.

Scared or not, the omega felt the same desire running through him and Declan, he was almost sure of it. His own cock hung thick and heavily, jutting before him. Declan had been in the same condition, both unable to control their lust for the omega.

We need to leave. Before things go too far. Yet Ryder stood there, frozen. As much as he knew it was wrong, it all just felt so… right.

Who's Story is Next on BEAR MOUNTAIN????

The Bear Mountain Series is growing!  I've really enjoyed the world of the bears, enough to make what started out to only be a three-book series into much, much more.

So tell me!  Which characters are you waiting to see a story from?  Ben?  Red & Quentin?  Magnus? (And just who IS his brother bear?)

And what about that pregnant human they freed at the end of book 3?

**SPOILER ALERT**  Stop here if you haven't read books 3 or 4!

Hey -- I warned you.

Maybe Traylon and Oberon comes back from the dead ala soap opera magic and get their redemption story?? (Yeah, that's NOT going to happen, btw -- those two are beyond redemption.)

I want to hear from you, the readers.  Which characters are you excited to see come down the road?

COMING 10/14/2015 -- PROMISED TO TWO BEARS (Bear Mountain, 4)

Monday Mancraving - Iron Man + Captain America = Happy Kelex

I did a search and am very glad to see I'm not the only freak out there who would love to see these two together. There's a ton of fan fiction and fan art showing their Cap and Iron Man love.

Oh, if only.

Between Him and a Hard Place comes to Amazon!

I've gotten some emails and messages asking if there's a link on Amazon for my new release BETWEEN HIM AND A HARD PLACE -- and there is NOW.

The book was released by All Romance Books -- and they sold it exclusively on their site and iBooks for the first few days.

No more waiting, though.

NEW RELEASE DAY! Between Him and a Hard Place by Kelex

Today's the day!  The Wicked line is here and with it, my title Between Him and a Hard Place.  This story is the first in the Dead Ones series.

Dead Ones... how romantic.  Believe me, it's hot.  The stories are set after the zombie apocalypse.  Humans are a dying breed, which doesn't bode well for the vampires who feed off them.  So this creates a new, interesting dynamic.

For those of you who don't like horror or zombies -- trust me -- there isn't much horror in my story.  It's focused on Archer and Syn and the heat between them.

They survived catastrophe, but can they live on together?

Archer did things he didn’t know he was capable of doing to survive the zombie virus that brought down the world. When his traveling companion is murdered by dead ones, he knows his time has come. Seconds before he’s slaughtered, a combat vehicle crashes through the scene and a masked man saves the day—a man he feels inexplicably drawn to.

Only the man isn’t a man, but a vampire.

Syn is a tracker, sent out to find and protect the last of the humans and the precious blood in their veins. Archer isn’t like the others he’s found. He feels tied to the human in a way he can’t explain. The two come together explosively, both fighting the intense emotion they feel before running to escape their burning lust.

Can they find a way back to one another?

Archer heard an engine rev out of nowhere, and a huge vehicle ran through the crowd of dead ones, mowing them down with ease. The passenger door was flung open before him. A masked man stared at him, hiding who his potential savior was. Or if he could trust whomever was behind it.

“Get in!” a tinny voice cried out.

Without much more consideration, as the inside of that truck was better than the death surrounding him, he jumped in. The man stepped on the gas before Archer could barely even attempt to slam the door closed, not that he could’ve had he wanted to.

“Get the door shut and fast!”

“I’m trying,” Archer screamed, stabbing his hunting knife into the head of a dead one clinging to the door. As soon as he kicked that one off, he jammed his knife into another, slamming the door on another set of decaying fingers and slicing them off. They fell in his lap, still wiggling.

A dozen dead ones hung on to the hood of the truck, which was being spun from side to side, trying to fling the creatures off. Archer reached for a non-existent seatbelt and then held on for dear life.

“Hold on to the wheel,” the guy screamed, rolling down his window.

The driver lifted a pistol as Archer grabbed the huge wheel and leaned out. One by one, he got the dead ones between the eyes, and they fell under the moving vehicle. Bouncing as they rumbled over the bodies, Archer tried to keep the thing on the road. He wasn’t even sure what it was. It was something between a truck and a tank, with an Army vibe. The tech surrounding the wheel was anything but Army-issued, though. Whatever it was, he’d never seen anything like it, and was more than happy to have seen it when he did.

Finally, the driver dropped back into his seat, the dead ones gone from the hood. Just as he began to roll up his window, a hand reached in. Lightning quick, the guy sliced the hand off with a scary-looking blade, then proceeded to roll his window up.

Archer leaned back into his seat and stared at the road ahead, stunned as hell he’d made it out alive. His heart continued to thump hard in his chest as he stared at the masked driver.

“Syn,” the guy said with that robotic-sounding voice. He held out his gloved hand.

Archer really took in the guy’s appearance for the first time. He wore some weird gas mask-like thing with goggles. Here it was, the middle of the summer, and he was covered from head to toe in black leather, from his neck to his gloved fingers and shitkickers.

“Syn’s short for Synclair,” the guy said again, still offering his hand. “As in my name. You’ve got one, right?”

“Archer,” he answered, finally taking the extended hand. “I can’t thank you enough,” he added as he shook it.

“No problem. I’ve been following you for weeks,” the masked man said, returning his hand to the wheel and looking ahead. “I’ve been just a day or so behind you for the last week. Good thing I caught up when I did.”

Archer frowned, his hackles rising. “Why were you following me?”

“I find humans to take to the Southern Citadel.”

The Southern Citadel? “Wait, what?”

“You haven’t heard of the Citadels?” he asked, glancing over at Archer.

Archer shook his head.

“There are three human cities. They’re walled and protected and already teeming with people. It’s my job to help find the last of the humans to take there so some sort of civilization can start again.”

Human cities? Walled and protected? It sounded too good to be true. And he’d learned anything that sounded too good to be true likely was. Even with his doubt, only one question truly came to mind. “You guys got food and water there?”

The masked man chuckled. “All you could ever want.”

“Then what are we waiting on?” Archer knew he might be walking into a trap, but the promise of hot food and a hot shower was too good to ignore. He was running on empty. He needed to regroup.

He glanced at the man driving, again wondering about the weird get-up, but weird was now the norm in their fucked up world.
